Cooking is Cool at North Star Elementary School!
Read what all of the second grade teachers had to say about our visit:
The students loved that the food plate was easier to understand than the food pyramid and that they could explain the rainbow of colors to their parents better. All of the students loved the healthy treat. They also said they looked forward to making some of the recipes in the book read to them at home.
--Michelle Ross
The kids were highly engaged and eager to participate. The loved seeing how easy it was to make the soup and more importantly, loved eating the final product! The rainbow craft was easy to make and provided a simple way to remember to always eat "a rainbow of foods".
--Stephanie Joswick
My students thoroughly enjoyed their time with Mrs. Sardo & Mrs. Dell'Oso.
They were engaged with many activites that addressed several different learning styles.
All but one of my students ate all of the soup & said they "loved"it!
-- Holly Little
Cooking's Cool was a great way to introduce children to the topic of eating healthy while incorporating the love of literature through the seasonal cooking books.
-- Abbey Morehart
This program kept their attention and the rainbow activity helped them make a connection to food.
-- Linsann Kaplan
My kids loved it. The two instructors did a great job making it informative for the kids. They were very well prepared and had great classroom management for my class.
