"Getting kids excited about healthy eating is a passion for Cindy Sardo, of Landenberg, PA. Sardo, a former teacher and mother of three, created Cooking's Cool, a grassroots company. She's also written three cookbooks (available at Amazon.com) with kid-friendly recipes using fruits and vegetables found in the winter, spring and fall." Wilmington News Journal article, June 2010

"Daisy Troop 596 had a wonderful experience at the Young Chef’s Academy with Cindy Sardo and Michelle Falla. Cindy, the author of Cooking’s Cool and creator of the Cooking’s Cool program, and Michelle, owner/ manager of YCA, helped the girls make roasted veggie and cheese quesadillas. The girls learned about safety in the kitchen, how to chop vegetables, grate cheese and put it all together in a wheat tortilla for a yummy and nutritious snack. Cindy explained the food pyramid and read her unique book. Each girl left with an autographed book and an adorable patch that matches the cover of the book. I am very impressed with this project. This was a fun way for the girls to learn about nutrition and experiment with some foods that they might not otherwise have tried. This is such an important message for our girls to learn and the younger the better! Plus, how cool is it to meet the author who helps make her books come alive. I believe Cindy’s books are going to be a big success and so is her Cooking’s Cool program." Dina Barrett, Troop Leader
"I have had the pleasure of reading Cooking's Cool with my entire family! Not only did we love the heart-warming story, we couldn't wait to get in the kitchen and try out the recipes. They are simple, healthy, and delicious! We are also enjoying the activities at the end of the book (in fact, I don't know who is having more fun with them - me or the kids!). I can see Cooking's Cool being utilized by families and classrooms everywhere. What a great and timely tool to help children understand the importance, and not to mention fun, of healthy cooking. I look forward to reading more about Mrs. Sheff and her adventures at Cooking's Cool!"

"Fighting obesity is not an easy task, but with the support of this book, and educators teaching about healthy lifestyle choices, you are sure to see positive results. Plus the book is just adorable." Michelle Falla, Owner, Young Chefs Academy
"I just can't say enough about Cooking's Cool! Cooking's Cool is a fabulous children's literature series that fosters a love for cooking , while reinforcing the principles of sound nutrition. As a mom of kids with extremely busy schedules, finding time to prepare healthy meals and snacks is certainly a growing challenge. Cindy Sardo's books provide engaging stories, beautiful illustrations, and healthy recipes that my children and I can make together! The former educator in me also appreciates how the books provide extension activities, as well as variations on each recipe. To me this series is unique because it offers the simple pleasure of reading aloud to my kids, along with ideas for hours of quality family fun. A true treasure for both parents and teachers!" Suzanne Tamassia, Landenberg, Pennsylvania
"As a health teacher and the mother of two young children, Cooking's Cool! is a great find. The story of Mrs. Sheff instilling the love and enthusiasm for eating healthy and cooking a rainbow of foods is perfect. Cindy did a great job introducting and sharing the book with my 3rd grade health class; the students left with a veritable rainbow of foods to choose from. As a teacher the follow-up lessons in the back of the book are great ways to reinforce these important lessons both in the classroom and at home. I cannot wait for the other books to share with my students and my own children" Shannon Helmecki, Sanford School, Hockessin, Delaware
"I love Cooking's Cool! The story of Mrs. Sheff and her students is so heartwarming and inspirational for a parent like myself who is always trying to find ways to feed my kids nutritious meals. The activities at the end of the book are a great way to reinforce Mrs. Sheff's lessons and get the kids involved in making healthy choices." Joanne Panico, Landenberg, Pennsylvania
